THRIFTY FINDS SACRAMENTO:
Red Leather for a Rainy Day - Frederic T Paris Bag
On a recent Sunday, I ventured out in the rain to use my "$5 off $10 purchase" coupon at
Thrift Town in Sacramento. Since I’m a handbag junkie, my first stop is always the handbag
bins. Most thrift stores have their “better” handbags behind the counter, but
occasionally their radar will miss a little-known designer name. At the
Stockton Blvd. Thrift Town, I found a red leather Frederic T Paris backpack for
$2.99!
Fortunately, I recognized the name. But even if I hadn't, I could tell by the hardware, precise
stitching, finished edges, and the smooth, shiny leather that this was an
upscale bag. The leather was a
little worn at the corners on the bottom of the bag, but overall it was in near
perfect condition, even the inside of the bag!
When I got home, I searched for similar
bags on eBay. Used bags identical to my fashion find were being auctioned for
up to $150! Even with the nice profit potential, I think I’ll keep it. It will look great with jeans this
Spring and it’s classy, functional and unique, my favorite kind of fashion find!
As if that wasn't good enough, after selecting a pair of LL Bean canvas shoes and two tee shirts, I could
use my "$5 off $10 purchase" coupon, making my outlay for the day only $6.00!!! Now that's a great score for a
soggy Sunday!
