Open to ALL amateur fashion designers who enjoy reconstructing your thrift shop finds into truly unique pieces, which will then be voted on by our online community! *For the sake of defining "amateur" here, if you have never made a living full-time as a fashion designer, then you qualify to enter this competition.
WINNING (GRAND PRIZE):
1. You will be crowned the 2014 Thrifty Finds Fashion Reconstruction Queen/King!!!
2. You will be featured on our blog and social networking sites as our winner, opening up the doors for networking AND we will be happy to post any/all of your reconstructed creations in the future as a media and promotions outlet for you! *2nd and 3rd place contestants will also be featured on our blog and we will be happy to serve as a media and promotions outlet for these contestants as well
3. Finally, the GRAND PRIZE is a JACKPOT formula of $25 multiplied by number of contestants, with no cap! (MINIMUM of 5 contestants required by the end of April, so at a MINIMUM you could win $125 - contest will be cancelled and your entry fee refunded in full if we do not have at least 5 contestants by the end of April). That being said, if we get 40 contestants, you could win $1,000!!! Why stop there? The possibilities are endless so make sure you SPREAD THE WORD because the more contestants we get, the greater your prize potential!!!
GET THE IDEA:
Since Thrift Shop Haute is currently an independently funded community (with promotional products, giveaways, & advertising expenses), the only way we will be able to get this show on the road is for EACH ENTRANT to the contest to submit a reasonable fee of $30 to participate in the contest. A blog will be posted to keep track of each contestant entry, displaying the Fashion Designer Contestant's name and city so that ALL contestants can see the entries coming in (and therefore, watch the jackpot grow exponentially). We want all contestants to know that this is technically a JACKPOT that will undoubtedly benefit your fashion careers, your exposure, the thrifting community, as well as OF COURSE, increasing traffic to the Thrift Shop Haute blog! Just $5 from each entry will go towards covering Paypal fees incurred and assist with advertising. The rest of your entry fee ($25) goes straight into the jackpot for you to win! All entry fees, refunds, and PRIZE PAYOUT will be conducted via PAYPAL ONLY, so you must have or create a Paypal account to be eligible.
*Again, ENTRY FEES WILL ULTIMATELY DETERMINE THE TOTAL PRIZE AMOUNT. The competition MUST have a MINIMUM of 5 contestants enter BEFORE APRIL 30th so that the winner will win at the very LEAST $125, or else the competition will be cancelled. If we do not have at least 5 contestants pay the $30 entry fee prior to April 30th, all entry fees paid up to that point will be refunded 100% ASAP.
Also, if you represent a clothing/accessory/beauty company interested in sponsoring you OR your choice of designer to make this competition possible, then we want to hear from you! (aka, you pay their $30 admission fee PLUS offer a free sample or product to be featured in an upcoming Thrift Box Giveaway)
*Admission funds will ultimately determine the total prize amount, and the jackpot will be updated daily to show updated GRAND PRIZE AMOUNT!
